A truly hands-on experience, your training will include working on patrons in a fully equipped salon setting. You'll learn everything from hair design and coloring to skin and nail care. Our experienced certified instructors

 will guide you through each step and will make sure that all safety procedures ae taught and followed.

You will be fully prepared to take the state licensing exam, and we can help with job placement. There are two classes each year. The program is designed to train students through a sequential set of learning tasks necessary for State board preparation, graduation, and entry-level job skills. Within the program, subjects will be presented by means of lecture, demonstration, and student participation. Learning tools include audiovisual aids, guest speakers, field trips, projects, activities, textbook and workbook, periodicals, charts and service sheets, computer, handout

s, etc. Lab equipment, implements and products are comparable to those used in the industry. The course is designed to follow the Florida Department of Cosmetology and the Florida Department of Education frameworks. At the satisfactory completion of the program, the student will be granted a Certificate of Completion, which will allow the student to become eligible to take the Florida State Board of Cosmetology examination and become successfully employed as a Cosmetologist.

 

Some of the duties performed by a Cosmetologist include:

  • Take appointments

  • Greet clients

  • Perform multiple services

  • Be able to formulate

  • Knowledge of terminology

  • Must maintain a 75 average

Basic Skills: Unless exempt, students' competency in reading, math, and language are assessed within six (6) weeks of program entry.

Once ready, you will be able to provide a variety of services to clients, including hair cuts, coloring, facials, and more.
