This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Marine Service industry.
This program is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of six (6) occupational completion points (OCPs).

Additional Information
The content includes, but is not limited to, the following: service, repair and overhaul of four-stroke and two-stroke cycle engines and outboard motors; as well as repair of boating accessories. With regard to the above, course content will include electrical systems, fuel systems, power transfer systems, ignition systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, drive systems and boat and trailer rigging.
Yamaha Marine University
Our program includes Yamaha’s Introduction to Outboards, This course is a Yamaha factory certification program in Yamaha outboard engines. It is designed by Yamaha Marine University to develop outboard techs for placement in Yamaha dealerships. Introduction to Outboards is the first course in the progression to becoming a Yamaha Master Marine Technician. Covered in the course are: (1) Boating Basics, (2) Materials, Common Parts & Tools, (3) Electrical, (4) Outboard Ignition Systems, (5) Fuel Systems, (6) Powerheads, (7) Lubrication, (8) Drive Unit, (9) Propellers, (10) Brackets, (11) Corrosion, and (12) Rigging. Upon successful completion of this course our students will be a Certified Yamaha Technician in the above systems, and have to Opportunity to sit for the Inline Yamaha Maintenance Certification test.
All students participate in IET
Integrated Education and Training (IET) is an educational model that combines adult education and literacy activities with workforce preparation and training for a specific occupation or occupational cluster. The goal of IET is to help adults gain the skills and credentials they need for in-demand careers, and to advance their education and careers.
